In 2018, the Triad Trackers reached the pinnacle of their team’s 30-year history, earning a spot in the Wheelchair Basketball National Finals. Two years later, the team was suddenly gone, ripped away as a casualty of Covid-19. When Chris Rivera moved to Winston-Salem, he decided the final Trackers’ basket had yet to be scored. Alongside two of his former teammates, Chris assembled a squad that showcases the physicality that the sport demands. Off the court, each player has their own unique story that led them to the game. For them, wheelchair basketball isn’t just a sport; It’s a family.
