Closer in Strife

In an apartment in Beirut, quietness fills the room, stirred by distant traffic and a breeze that makes the curtains sway. A grandmother clears the dinner table and prepares her tea, while her grandchild, Lilit, sits on the floor building a castle of playing cards. Seeking company, the grandmother tries to speak to her grandchild but is repeatedly met with silence and ignorance. Suddenly, an unforeseen destruction shakes the city, briefly interrupting the space that separates them.
