“Cookie, Love” follows Taiwanese-American baker Jean Hwang Currant and her cookie shop in the heart of Paris, France. With American cookies, Jean cuts through the pastry capital of the world, challenging what belongs in the Parisian culinary canon with her Asian flavor profiles and technique. Through intimate red felt tabletop vignettes that reimagine her inner world, we piecemeal her story — Her philosophy of wabi-sabi, and her 5 year long courtship of a love story with her French husband. This short documentary is about embracing multi-cultural identity, authenticity, a love for life – and, of course, cookies.
