Women tattooers in two different Southern California shops chronicle their exceptional journeys from apprenticeship to shop ownership. Fighting through misogyny and self-doubt, these tattooers refined their art, perfected their businesses, and remained true to themselves, in an industry that wanted to see them fail, creating a more open and diverse future for tattooing.
