Filmmaker Sammy LeMieur had his camera on hand for a four-year period of fervid transition within his own family. His relationship to his subjects—including his surgeon father and mortician brother—evolves as they do. What begins as the simple capture of family gatherings and the goings-on of a small-town funeral home develops into a layered, often stark, and always honest meditation on loss, change, and the beauty and burden of tradition.
