The Last Bohemians: Life & Art at The Chelsea Hotel

Since its opening in 1883, just about everything has been documented and mythologized about the historic Hotel Chelsea. As one of the oldest buildings in NYC, there’s been 100s of books, films and songs written about the hotel. The Chelsea’s legacy was further cemented after many famous musicians and artists stayed there in the 60’s and 70’s like Bob Dylan and Patti Smith. From there it was infamous for overdoses, suicides, murders, and tales of ghosts. However, what many people don’t know or talk about are the 30+ residents that still live in the hotel today, some of whom have been there for over 40 years.
