Ibrahim Nash'at is an Egyptian, Berlin-based documentary filmmaker and producer, and a DGA and Peabody nominee. His debut feature (director, co-producer & Cinematographer), Hollywoodgate, was shortlisted for the Academy Awards and the IDA Awards, nominated for the German Film Awards (LOLA) and Cinema Eye Honors, and won dozens of international prizes from film festivals and institutions. The film premiered at La Biennale, Venice, and Telluride Film Festivals in 2023, went on to screen at over 100 international festivals, and was widely acclaimed and distributed worldwide. He also co-edited Under the Sky of Damascus by Talal Derki, which premiered at the Berlinale Film Festival in 2023, won several international prizes including the Golden Alexander at the Thessaloniki Film Festival. Nash'at holds an MA in Documentary Filmmaking from Met Film School, Germany and a BS in Pharmaceutical Science from MIU, Egypt. He is a co-founder of the production company Rolling Narratives GmbH and a member of both the German and European Film Academies.
