Sarah Maerten is a Baltimore based filmmaker and actor. She studied theatre and playwriting at Columbia College in Chicago, IL and was influenced by playwrights like Paula Vogel (Baltimore Waltz) and creators like Alan Resnick (Unedited Footage of a Bear). Sarah’s works have been recognized by Palm Springs ShortFest, New/Next Film Festival, and Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival, and have also been featured on curated online platforms such as NoBudge. Her work recognizes the absurdity of life and tends to drift towards surrealism and phantasmagoria. She currently works as an Assistant Director and Production Coordinator locally and plans to continue utilizing 3D animation and digital multimedia in her future work.
