Chhaupadi is an ancient practice in Nepal that forces menstruating women and girls away from their main homes to live in small huts, based on cultural beliefs that they are impure when they bleed. Over the years, it has led to severe physical and emotional consequences for women, harsh weather, lack of proper sanitation, snake attacks, smoke inhalation, and even cases of abuse. Through Virtual Reality, this film lets the viewers experience the isolation of being trapped inside a Chhaupadi hut allowing them to experience the emotional and psychological weight of being confined to such a space, hear the inner voices, the doubts, and the internal conflicts that women endure in silence.
